Lethal Weapon 5: A Blast From the Past
If you’re a fan of action movies, chances are you’ve heard of the Lethal Weapon franchise. And if you’re like me, you got super excited when you heard they were making a fifth installment! When I finally got to see it, I have to admit I had mixed feelings.
The Plot
The premise of Lethal Weapon 5 is pretty simple: Detective Roger Murtaugh (played by Danny Glover) and his partner Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) are back in action, this time investigating a series of bombings in Los Angeles. Along the way, they team up with some new characters and revisit some old favorites.
To be honest, the plot is not the strongest part of this movie. It’s pretty predictable and feels like a retread of themes we’ve seen before in the franchise.
The Cast
It’s great to see Danny Glover and Mel Gibson back together on screen. They have fantastic chemistry and play off each other’s strengths as actors. However, it’s clear that both actors have aged since the last time we saw them in these roles. It doesn’t detract from their performances, but it’s something to keep in mind.
